Landscape design & installation

A better landscape starts with a clear brief.

Before plants are selected or beds are opened, define how the property should look, function, and feel when the work is complete.

Professionally planned planting beds with layered texture and an inviting outdoor space

A useful first conversation is not about naming every plant. It is about the problems to solve, the experience you want, and the level of change that fits the property.

Define the outcome

Decide whether the priority is curb appeal, a complete transformation, easier maintenance, a more welcoming entry, better seasonal color, clearer paths, outdoor lighting, or renovation of tired planting beds. Rank the priorities if the project needs to happen in phases.

Share the conditions we cannot see from a street view

Note drainage trouble, standing water, irrigation, pets, deer pressure, utility access, heavy shade, intense afternoon sun, and areas that are difficult to maintain. Photographs from several angles help, but an on-site visit confirms the conditions that guide sound design choices.

Set a realistic investment range

A budget range helps align the design with the intended scope and avoids developing a plan that cannot be installed as drawn. Landscaping Jents offers a free initial site visit. Detailed plans or formal proposals may carry a fee based on project complexity; that fee may be credited toward an approved and completed project.

Plan for how the landscape will mature

Plants should be chosen for their mature size, growing conditions, seasonal interest, and relationship to nearby architecture—not only how they look on installation day. Paths, gravel, stepping stones, and low-voltage lighting should also support the way people actually move through and use the property.
